“We can’t wait to work with the new colours!“

Oliver Bergmann is a hairdresser with grit and soul. Since restructuring his business in 2000 and introducing his exclusive haircare range last year, he has been living his vocation without compromise. Soon, he will also be committing to more colour.

What is your biggest passion about hairdressing?

Cutting is my passion. I always knew I wanted to be a hairdresser. However, since launching my own brand, I've even tapped into a new target audience: those who exclusively buy my high-end hair shampoos and care products – yet want to remain loyal to their regular hairdresser. 

How did you come up with the idea for the own brand?

With the old suppliers, I felt more and more pressure when it came to purchasing shampoos and hair care products. Items that were selling well were suddenly taken out of the range. For example, a hair dye where I only needed one tube could then only be ordered in packs of three. It was so inflexible, it left me feeling frustrated.

How has your business changed through the introduction of the own-brand??

Incredibly positive. The local paper even approached me to do a feature on the launch of my exclusive haircare range. Turnover has doubled. It's a win-win situation: I embody my brand through my top products and the customers get high-quality haircare that they can refill with me at any time. 

What happens next for you?

At first we wanted to concentrate purely on shampoos and hair care products. As this went so well, we tested the free Varga Hair colour range. The gentle colours that do not damage the hair, the top coverage, the impressive shine and the harmonious price-performance ratio quickly convinced us. Despite all their colouring power, the products also do not smell toxic. My team and I can hardly wait to work with the new colours!
